Foam Carvings

Clinicians must create a positive model of a residual limb or orthotic shape in order to create a definitive device. The positive model, carved out of a stiff foam, serves as the basis for fabricating a prosthetic socket or orthotic device.

Foam carvings may be done for various orthotic and prosthetic shapes

Product Highlights:
  • Same day turnaround for orders received before Noon (EST)
  • Prosthetic and Orthotic shapes accepted
  • Lead time for Foam Carvings:
Before Noon (EST): same day turnaround
    After Noon (EST): 1-day turnaround

Should any lead time not be met, we will call the customer and ship the custom fabrication order at our expense.

  • To Select Proper Composite Toe Spring Stiffness:
    1. Calculate adjusted body weight. (Adjusted body weight = patient body weight + loads normally or routinely carried)
    2. Using adjusted body weight and patient activity level, select the toe spring stiffness from the chart below.
    3. If the amputee’s weight is near the border between two categories:
      1. choose the higher of the two categories if the amputee is very active or has a longer residual limb.
      2. choose the lower of the two categories if the amputee is moderately active or has a very short residual limb.
