Thermoplastic Sockets
A definitive thermoplastic socket is formed by draping a heated sheet of plastic over a positive model. A chief advantage of thermoplastic is that it can be heated and reshaped to adjust the patient fit if necessary. Thermoplastic sockets may not always be desirable for heavy duty or high-activity applications.
