Capabilities

Whether you provide prosthetic services, orthotic services, or both, OMEGA Tracer’s wide-ranging clinical capabilities will increase your company’s productivity and performance.

Lower Limb Prosthetics

Use OMEGA Tracer to create check sockets, definitive sockets, and custom liners quickly and easily. Save your patients’ time and increase their comfort by eliminating plaster.

OMEGA Tracer offers several options for capturing lower limb shapes:

  • Use the OMEGA Scanner to capture transtibial and transfemoral shapes
  • Use the OMEGA Tracing Hardware to trace the shape of a transtibial limb, or to trace the shape of a transfemoral distal end and merge it with a virtual brim in the software
  • For basic transfemoral shapes, simply apply the patient’s measurements to a template in the software

You can then modify the captured shape using the extensive suite of software tools or use the shape as the basis for creating an Alpha DESIGN Liner.

Custom Breast Prostheses

Provide a custom ContourMed breast prosthesis that starts with a detailed and accurate image from the OMEGA Scanner.

  1. Scan the shape of the intact breast in a bra.
  2. Scan the incision site.
  3. Merge the two images into a single shape in the software.
  4. Send the shape file and order form to ContourMed.

The result is a comfortable prosthesis that fits snugly onto the chest and matches the shape of the intact breast.

Cranial Orthotics

The OMEGA Scanner provides a safe, pain-free method for capturing the shape of an infant’s head without a plaster cast.

  • Cranial remolding helmet
    • For positional plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, scaphocephaly, or post-operative craniosynostotic helmets
    • Captured shape must be sent to an FDA-approved manufacturing site (Becker, Danmar, or Orthomerica)
  • Protective helmet
    • Not a regulated medical device
    • Captured shape can be sent to an in-house carver or to the fabricating facility of your choice

Spinal Orthotics

OMEGA Tracer offers two options for treating spinal patients. Neither option involves the trauma of applying a plaster cast.

  • Spinals by Measurement
    • apply the patient’s measurements to a template in the software
    • most efficient option
    • appropriate for patients requiring services from surgical acute care to prophylaxis
  • OMEGA Scanner
    • capture the patient’s shape directly
    • appropriate for patients who are more challenging to fit

Prior to fabrication, you can modify the shape as desired using the individual tools or the handy Spinal Tool page.

Ankle Foot Orthoses

Choose one of OMEGA Tracer’s AFO options according to the patient’s needs:

  • Patients with mild deformities or drop foot
    • Scan the patient directly using the OMEGA Scanner
    • Increase your patient’s comfort and convenience by eliminating plaster entirely
  • Patients who require significant corrective positioning during shape capture

Modify the shape as desired using the individual software tools, the handy AFO Tool page, or the modification wizards. Carve the AFO as a single piece on the OMEGA Carver, or send it to the fabrication facility of your choice.

Insoles

OMEGA Tracer lets you create insoles for conditions ranging from plantarfasciitis to pes cavus. Capture the shape of the insole quickly and accurately with the OMEGA Scanner using either of these methods:

  • Scan the patient's foot directly
  • Scan the impression of the foot in a foam box

Use the software tools to correct for pronation and supination or make other desired adjustments. After modification, send the shape to either a lathe-type carver or 3-axis router.
